Bloodline Blood Orange Ale
Bloodline defies genre: Hops for the hop-heads. Fruit for the rest. This is the beer you buy to convert the guy who “doesn’t really like IPAs.” Sweet blood orange puree is added toward the end of fermentation to balance the citrusy sharpness of Northern Brewer, Citra, and Mosaic hops, and deliver a hard-charging ABV to keep the good times rolling.
7% ABV | 40 IBU | 210 Est. Cal | Style: IPA - American, American IPA
Untappd: 3.68 | BeerAdvocate: 88
Pairs brilliantly with lighter proteins, like gourmet seared Ahi tuna over nicoise salad, or leftover Thanksgiving turkey sandwiches topped with two pounds of mashed potatoes and three pounds of regret.
Flying Dog Bloodline Blood Orange IPA
Frederick, Maryland, United States
Style: IPA - Flavored
Brewed by: Flying Dog Brewery
Brewed exclusively for the 2013 Craft Brewers Conference (and a collaborative project with Reyes Beverage Group), Bloodline is an intensely-hopped IPA brewed with Blood Orange peel and juice.
Originally a small-batch release in the spring of 2013. Bloodline is brewed with blood orange peel and blood orange juice and hits the perfect balance between citrus sweetness and bitterness.
Bloodline begins with huge grapefruit on the nose. Then, a delicate balance of citrus sweetness and bitterness. Try it with grilled light proteins, salads with fruity vinaigrettes, and fresh salsa.
